Public participation was one of the most important steps in the entire HAP development process. It is imperative that the City gather an equitable representation of the needs of the community to ensure that our most pressing housing challenges are addressed. The City provided multiple opportunities for community input that included open houses and community conversations in public spaces, as well as distributed a housing survey that covers the different touchpoints of the HAP.

Our Des Moines HAP Survey has now closed. We received 206 responses to our survey in total. We value your opinions on housing in Des Moines and appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback.
The City of Des Moines hosted two Des Moines Housing Action Plan open houses at Highline College. Our first event took place in the evening on Tuesday, November 15th and our second event was held in the afternoon of Sunday, December 3rd.
